Two distinctive bluesmen of the Czech music scene crossed artistic paths in a duet drawing inspiration from gospel and blues. Matěj Ptaszek, whom you may know from the movie Občanský průkaz (Civic ID) and who is among the top European blues players (HOHNER Newcomer 2009 and fifteenth best blues harmonica player in the world according to a poll by the prestigious blues magazine Twój Blues, 2012). After several years spent in South America, where he played blues in local clubs and performed at festivals, Ptaszek returned to the Czech Republic and enriched by the experience of the Colombian crocante rhythm, formed a duo with the renowned Czech bluesman Bužma, who, among other things, worked closely with the legendary doyen of Moravian bluesmen Pepa Streichl.
Bužma's instrumental skill (acoustic guitar, banjo, Reso phonic guitar) and the poetics of timeless texts in Czech and Prussian dialect, and Ptaszek's virtuoso playing of the harmonica and the novel singing performance of both protagonists will plunge the listener into a whirlwind of brusque blues seasoned with the lyricism of the Czech language and traditional musical pearls of the American South. Look forward to the crunchy "crocante" cut by the PTASZEK & BUŽMA duo - Blues And Gospel.
